Church History 1960 - 1969

In September 1961 the church was incorporated and organized as First Baptist Church of Pea Ridge, Arkansas.

In 1961 the church voted and approved purchase of the three bedroom brick home west of the church for a parsonage for the pastor to live in. $10,400.00 was the purchase price. The old parsonage was sold for $1,200.00 to pay on the new parsonage. It was moved out and the space was made into another parking lot.

In 1962 First Baptist Church of Pea Ridge voted and approved bringing in Sugar Creek Baptist Chapel as a mission and to purchase Sugar Creek Church for $1.00. The First Baptist Church of Pea Ridge was the Mother Church. It was carried as a church mission until 1965, then operated on its own.

In 1966 the first air conditioner was installed in the auditorium.

In 1967 the lot south of the church was purchased from Don Adams for $1,900.00 for a parking lot.

In about 1969 First Baptist Church started their Bus Ministry, and the first bus was purchased. Through the years several other buses have been purchased and the Bus Ministry has grown with an average of 71 children coming in on the buses on Sunday morning.
